Nanjing Chemical Industry Park
The current official profile uses the name Nanjing Jiangbei New Materials Science and Technology Park and traces the zone’s development to Nanjing Chemical Industry Park, established in 2001. In March 2018, Nanjing approved the new-materials park in the original chemical-park development area, with a stated positioning around distinctive products, higher-end materials, and safer, greener industrial development. The same government profile describes an integrated operating model covering industrial development, utilities, trade and logistics, environmental protection and safety, and management services. It says the park has formed a modern industrial system supported by petrochemical and C1-carbon chains, with new materials and life-health industries as development directions. The profile also reports more than 130 production and operating enterprises, including more than 20 Fortune Global 500 companies, major global chemical companies and leaders in specialized markets. Recent government disclosures show both the park’s constraints and its upgrading agenda. A July 2025 response states that the planned area is 31.7 square kilometers across the Changlu and Yudai sections, that expansion preparations began in December 2023, and that feasibility, planning, environmental, safety and related assessment work was underway. In November 2025, an innovation pilot base topped out with 16 pilot workshops and more than 40 pilot lines; the disclosure says 14 companies and projects led by five academicians were being gathered around advanced electronic materials, special engineering plastics and biomanufacturing.
