Innoforce Pharmaceuticals is a Hangzhou-based biopharmaceutical company focused on development and manufacturing services for advanced therapies. Thermo Fisher’s announcement of its 2020 partnership with Innoforce describes the company as a bioinnovation-enabling corporation located in Hangzhou Bay Biotech Valley within the Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Area. [1] Innoforce has presented its operating model as a partnership-focused platform that combines process development, GMP manufacturing, and collaboration with other biopharmaceutical service providers. [2]

In December 2022, Innoforce announced that it had commenced GMP manufacturing at a new Hangzhou site that also serves as its corporate headquarters. [2] The facility was designed to provide process-development and manufacturing services for RNA, plasmid DNA, viral vectors, and cell therapeutics across research, clinical, and commercial stages. [2] Innoforce described an investment of more than $200 million in a 550,000-square-foot advanced-therapies manufacturing base with plasmid bioreactors, viral-vector production capacity, automated cell-therapy suites, RNA in-vitro transcription and lipid-nanoparticle formulation, analytical-development laboratories, fill-finish lines, and warehousing. The company’s partnership with Thermo Fisher broadened the Hangzhou platform beyond advanced therapies. In November 2020, the companies announced a joint venture to establish a biologics and sterile-drug development and manufacturing facility in China, with expected capabilities in biologics manufacturing, sterile fill-finish, clinical-trial packaging, and logistics. [1] A 2021 Innoforce–dMed announcement described the campus as housing Innoforce CGTx Services for commercially capable cell- and gene-therapy manufacturing alongside the Thermo Fisher Biopharma Services Hangzhou joint venture for large-molecule biologics.
