Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd., commonly known as LiuGong, was founded in Liuzhou in 1958 and describes itself as a major enterprise in China’s construction-machinery industry. The company introduced China’s first modernized wheel loader in 1966 and has since expanded into more than 30 complete product lines covering loading and hauling, excavation, road construction, piling, mining, agriculture, lifting, industrial vehicles, concrete and construction-machinery components. [1] [2]

LiuGong’s historical expansion moved it beyond wheel loaders into a broad equipment portfolio. Its corporate brochure records a 1993 listing on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, a 1995 joint venture with ZF to produce transmission cases, and later additions including excavators, rollers, forklifts, road machinery, cranes, bulldozers, mining trucks, agricultural machinery, piling machinery and construction hoisting machinery. [2]

The company’s current international profile is substantial. LiuGong says its products and services are available in more than 180 countries and regions, supported by more than 500 dealers, over 20 manufacturing facilities, 17 research-and-development bases, more than 30 regional parts centers, more than 40 overseas offices and over 15,000 employees. Its stated development directions are “intelligent” and “green,” linking equipment manufacturing with digitalization, electrification and lower-carbon applications. [1]

LiuGong’s technology program includes a 2019 launch of a 5G-based intelligent remote-control wheel loader and large battery-electric vehicles, according to its corporate brochure. In 2026, LiuGong reported a zero-carbon smart-mining solution integrating green power, intelligent equipment, digital management and lifecycle services, and announced delivery of its 600,000th wheel loader. [2] [3]

The company is also represented in this database because of its long-running relationship with Cummins. LiuGong said in 2026 that the two companies were marking 30 years of global cooperation, with more than 300,000 LiuGong machines worldwide equipped with Cummins engines and Guangxi Cummins having produced more than 300,000 engines since its establishment.
