PepsiCo’s own shareholder materials identify June 8, 1965 as the incorporation date and say the company was founded by Donald M. Kendall of Pepsi-Cola and Herman W. Lay of Frito-Lay through their merger. The same source records PepsiCo’s merger with The Quaker Oats Company on August 2, 2001; that transaction brought Quaker’s portfolio, including Gatorade, into the group. [1]

The 2025 Form 10-K describes PepsiCo as a global beverage and convenient-food company whose brands include Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, Quaker and SodaStream. Through company operations, bottlers, contract manufacturers and other partners, it makes, markets, distributes and sells products in more than 200 countries and territories. The report organizes the business into six segments: PepsiCo Foods North America, PepsiCo Beverages North America, International Beverages Franchise, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Latin America Foods, and Asia Pacific Foods. [2]

PepsiCo’s current strategy is expressed through PepsiCo Positive, which the company says places sustainability at the center of business strategy while building resilience in operations and supply chains. Its 2025 corporate-identity announcement describes a family of more than 500 brands and more than 300,000 people. The 2025 filing identifies the principal executive offices at 700 Anderson Hill Road in Purchase, New York, so the company’s current identity combines a Purchase base with a large, geographically distributed food-and-drink system.
